What technology do you use for speech to text transcription?
When we first started we evaluated all leading Speech Recognition technologies, as this is the core to our business – and the accuracy of our results is paramount.
We thoroughly tested Google, Nuance, AT&T and IBM Watson with hundreds of real-life voicemail samples. The clear winner was Google!
Google Cloud Speech API enables VMwiz to convert audio to text by applying powerful neural network models.
This same technology is used by Google to power its own products (Google Voice, Google Home, Google Assistant, Speech Search).
According to Mary Meeker’s annual Internet Trends Report (May 2017), Google’s machine learning-backed voice recognition has achieved a 95% word accuracy rate for the English language. That current rate also happens to be the threshold for human accuracy.
